Greetings!
Spirituality is the main focus of my life. It provides me with direction, purpose, and peace. My intention is to share some of the successes I have encountered.
For years I have studied various approaches to broaden my connection to Spirit. To find meaning and value in life. I do not have impressive accolades nor a Phd. Perhaps to my detriment, I do not place high value on our current western academic institutions. I’ve heard it said and I will repeat, “my suffering qualifies me.” I have and continue to graduate from the school of hard knocks. True spirituality is about the art of living. I am currently not interested in the afterlife. I am interested in this life and how to attain and keep that which is most important to me, peace. This life can be absolutely beautiful and at my darkest points I had no idea how good I could feel in my being. True spirituality is about self-mastery. I always liked the idea of self-mastery when I read it but I din’t actually know what it meant for a long time. One can only master what they can control. As far as I know a humans zone of control is their actions, attitudes, thoughts they dwell upon and hold to be to true (beliefs). Naturally, maybe it’s my karma, I have been drawn to wisdom wherever it comes from and however and whoever expresses it. Eastern traditions though, have been my constant reference point, the Ancient Egyptians, Buddhism, Yoga, and Taoism have been the most precious jewels along the path for me thus far.
My favorite source has always been Lao-Tzu’s Tao Te Ching. Wanting to learn more about Taoism I came across Qi Gong. I learned that everything is energy. That I myself, at my core, am energy. Qi Gong teaches one how to work with their energy.
